Course Description and Objective

This course is designed to provide students with the necessary tools and skill set to create and upload advanced interactive Web (HTML) documents to a commercial Web Server. Topics covered include: JavaScript, Multimedia, Java Applets, and XML.

Attendance

As this is an accelerated course, attendance is both mandatory and required. Due to the rapid pace of this course it will be very important that you not miss class. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class via a signup sheet.

Tests

There will be a Midterm and Final Exam worth 50 points each. There will be NO make-ups for missed tests. If you miss a test, you will be required to take a comprehensive final to replace the test you missed. If you know in advance that you cannot take a test on the specified date, please contact me prior to the test date in order to set up an alternative test administration time.

Assignments/Labs

Students will be required to complete Tutorials 7 to 9 and XML Tutorials 1 to 4.

Student files are needed to complete the assignments and can be found at the textbook web site (See “Relevant Web Sites”. You will need to publish all assignments via a website, I suggest Angelfire.com or Yahoo/Geocities.

Grading

The grading scale for this course will be as follows:

A = 90 – 100

B = 80 – 89

C = 70 – 79

D = 60 – 69

F = 0 – 59
